There are many opportunities to volunteer for the church and we would love to hear from you if you are willing to give some of your time, skills or experience. There are some ideas of ways to volunteer below but if you see something else which you think you could help with, please do get in touch!
The church is signed up to the time credits scheme currently being used in Cambridge and nationally, please contact us if you would like to know more about earning credits for yourself or to give to friends.
Helping with Sunday Services
There are many ways to assist in the smooth running of our services: welcoming, reading, giving a lift to elderly residents, serving refreshments afterwards, laundry, tidying the church etc. Drivers undergo the Church’s safer recruitment process, which includes a DBS check. Please contact the Churchwardens.
Help out at Messy Church (second Thursday each month) - our volunteers help with set up, cooking, supervising crafts or singing/music, clearing away. Messy Church volunteers undergo the Church’s safer recruitment process, which includes a DBS check. Please contact Helen.
Trumpington MoPs (Mothers of Pre-schoolers)
Help make a space for mums by volunteering at the Moppets crèche. 2nd and 4th Wednesdays 9.45-11.30am at the Trumpington Meadows School. Moppets volunteers undergo the Church’s safer recruitment process, which includes a DBS check. Please contact Sheila.
Our volunteers deliver The Trumpet to almost 5,000 homes - right across the Parish!
Could you help us continue delivering free to your door? Especially if you live in the new areas? It is just 6 times a year. Please contact Mike.
Church and churchyard clear-up
We have a diligent cleaner for the church and the grass is mown regularly in the churchyard but twice a year in the spring and autumn we give the interior and the churchyard some extra TLC. The dates are announced in our weekly newsletter, the pew sheets, the website and on Facebook. If you would like to help on other occasions or you see a job that needs doing please contact the Churchwardens.
People volunteer in many ways, get in touch if you want to know more…
