at the Clay Farm Community Centre
You are very welcome at our Carol Service on December the 23rd. More details Here.
Welcome, whether you’re comfortable or struggling,
and whatever your background, situation or expectations.
We believe that diversity reflects the fullness of humanity,
and that we are stronger, wiser and more loving together.
Cornerstone is a new congregation from the main parish church of St Mary & St Michael in Trumpington, Cambridge, but located at the heart of the extensive new housing developments that is doubling the number of households the church is responsible for.
We meet regularly on Sunday afternoons from 3:30pm for about an hour at the Clay Farm Community Centre. We aim to build a safe, peaceful place, to challenge ourselves spiritually, and to encounter God. Cornerstone is a sermon-free zone where everyone's experience is welcomed and everyone is encouraged to participate in our discussions, activities and explorations.
We share a clergy team with the main parish church, but our services are largely lay led. We believe that we are all supported, guided and inspired by God, and so we can all learn from each others' experiences of God.
Our vision for Cornerstone
Cornerstone is part of the mission and witness of St Mary & St Michael, Trumpington. Responding to the significant increase in the number and diversity of the people in our village, Cornerstone looks to serve God in Trumpington by:
- welcoming everyone, especially those who do not feel part of a church, family or social group;
- learning from each other as followers of Christ’s Way;
- serving our neighbours in this community through direct action;
- witnessing to Christ’s love and power among our neighbours.
